The Skidmore Forever Home
A 4,200-square-foot custom country home on 13 acres near Smith's Grove, designed as a forever home with aging-in-place principles and the kind of low-maintenance infrastructure that lets retirement be retirement. Double-stud 12-inch exterior walls with nearly triple the R-value of conventional construction, geothermal smart-zone HVAC, brick exterior with a standing-seam copper porch roof, and a separately-designed working barn that became an integral part of the property.
